Barbara Stokes has always had the drive to be her own boss and change the lives of those who have been stricken with hard times. The contract with FEMA has allowed the company to hire hundreds of workers in six states, adding job creation to the company’s list of accomplishments. Barbara’s proven leadership makes her an invaluable asset to her company and the community of Huntsville at large. Together, her and her husband have over 30 years of experience in contract acquisition and entrepreneur spirit. Barbara graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2000.
Barbara has been an entrepreneur as the owner of Pisces Group where she worked with the school of Huntsville. She has also worked for Boeing, helping to secured government contracts for the aircraft manufacturer. It is this experience that lead her to help GSH secure a $28.5 million contract with FEMA to build modular homes for those displaced by Hurricane Harvey and other disasters. She started GSH of Alabama with her husband, Scott, whose position is Chief Operating Officer (COO) with the company. Barbara Stokes is an active member of the community, dedicating hundreds of volunteer hours each year.
